What the product records
Make Effects keeps the result of media work together with the information needed to understand and continue it. A Space contains Assets and their Variants, each completed generated Variant retains its typed Recipe, and exact References identify the inputs used. People can compare results, deliberately activate the Variant that represents an Asset, and organize work in Collections without losing provenance.
The product supports image, video, speech, dialogue, music, and sound-effect workflows through one shared model. Generate creates an Asset and its first Variant. Regenerate replays a completed Recipe unchanged; Vary applies deliberate changes into a sibling Variant. Retry repeats a failed Variant without changing its Recipe. Those actions remain distinct across the web app, MakeFX CLI, and hosted MCP server.
People and agents share one record
The web workspace is the human review and collaboration surface. It lets people inspect actual media, compare Variants, choose the main result, organize a Space, and approve agent work where approval is required. MakeFX provides the CLI for terminal automation and local files, plus hosted MCP for structured remote operations. All three surfaces use the same Space state and permissions.
Make Effects does not present itself as an autonomous creative director. The product preserves decisions that generation tools often leave scattered across prompts, files, and chat: the exact output, how it was produced, which References it used, which Variant was chosen, and how the work is organized.
Public records and boundaries
The documentation explains the product model and interfaces. The developer portal collects public API, OAuth, MCP, CLI, lifecycle, and agent-discovery resources. The Privacy Policy explains information handling, and the Terms of Service describe the rules for using the service.
